Welcome to the symposium of flash glucose monitoring and Israel and diabetes clear today and in the future. And this symposium is live here in Stockholm and you've also an opportunity to listen to it and by webcast and then later on you have a possibility to download the slides and here on the next time I'll show you a faculty I'm Marcus are a team from Helsinki City Hospital in Helsinki University and during the symposium, the chair of the meeting after my short introduction, the first stage will be given by consultant tibetologists and bewilderment from the University Hospital of Derby and Burton and after Emma we have the second as important space age given by Professor Ramsey agent from the University of Lates and leeds teaching Hospital trust. But to begin this session I'll show you some data, some published data from the last years and also the frame of today's flash glucose monitoring. Flash glucose censoring word here are my disclosures and then to some key areas of this symposium we are going to focus on first as we've noticed you've noticed that these today's seamless, easy two years devices are really easy to to have on enhance all over the field of diabetes across all the practices. We are going to go from the interpretation of the analysis of data to the ambulatory glucose profile implementation. Diamond range and GM are high as the basis to direct G M C G m centric but from there on to the new futures analysis like glucose pattern in size report or most important pattern, new things. So all in all I would think about the needs of people with diabetes and now not just With Taiwan diabetes but also more often in persons with type two diabetes. So this next study which I share is a really beautiful study published by Professor Kamlesh Conte from the University of Leicester England. He shows the importance of putting all other efforts to the beginning of the disease, the diagnosis of type two diabetes to get these people down with the H. P. M. R. C. Of 53 under. Clearly under that during the first year and by that to cut down the risk big risk of getting CV complications like M. I. Or stroking coming five years already in five years. So let's go on. When we think about the holistic treatment of diabetes, we know that there are many demands where to put all our efforts, how to cope with the big risk or risk of hypoglycemia and at the same time get to the target of good glycemic control. And what about then adherence totally. Yes, we do know that devices may play a big role in here and that was good to keep in mind all the time. How to help these people to narrow their gap between the healthy persons beside. So when we think then move on to today's studies, we think about the Swedish national Darby's reduced to data here in Stockholm, the city of Alfred Nobel and Nobel prize. They have really done a really good study which was already presented two years ago by katarina all of sun in in A. D. A. Meeting summer 2020. And she in her group they did show that while using 12 months of pre style library system, these persons could get to better glycemic control. It means the main outcome variable was HBO one see difference in 12 months of use. And they did find in that study that all people and that people who were on poor glycemic control or in very poor in both groups they did get a better class of control Either Taiwan diabetes or type two diabetes. And huge number of persons 36,000 with Taiwan and over 3000 with type two diabetes. So important study. But what about the costs? Also from Sweden, Professor Johann from orebro University and Central Hospital. He was the first author in a study which was published 10 months ago. And that the thing was the cost of diabetes while using C. G. M. In here Priest to glucose liberal system compared to sMB key. And in their study they were again having relatively poor control persons. I mean it's P. O. L. C. Was high or then really high. So to conclude in that final statement when you see this study results that the freestyle libre system was considered to be cost effective compared to a symbol a tree. And this finding was based profoundly on the additional quality of life benefit as you see in here and that this is a big importance for persons with diabetes. But until now, most of the studies in persons were talked to diabetes have been done in those who have been on incident treatment there. There's not much to be said about studies while not on insulin, but there are some of those. And I picked one of that to be shown in here. I'll bite. It is a small study from japan But they had two groups. The other one using SMB CCI machine device and the other one Priest to glucose monitoring by Libra and a period of 12 weeks and after that they stopped that censoring. And what did they find As you see in this slide, They could show that after using 12 weeks of the device. And even if you did not have the opportunity you have to have it later on these people on sensor, they somehow got enough knowledge. They were teached by the device to continue on that good track will see clearly lower. While those on the beach could not stand in that really good level. So clear message, the teaching method of the device. To conclude, we come to the last slide in her. Yes, we may help these people by using flash glucose monitoring system. People with that one diabetes, people with type two diabetes, they can handle their risk of hypoglycemia when they see the precise time, sensibly sensitive data, which help them to minimize the variation important matter. While lower, bring the risk of hypoglycemia. We are looking at the c g. M, directed by a new wide angle, accurate short and long distance classes and you are going to hear about that later on through the symposium and this all just by thinking the needs, the basic needs of people with diabetes and now in type one and type two diabetes, I wish you're warmly welcome to this meeting. Thanks.
