Intended Audience
This complimentary CME educational activity is designed for all healthcare providers (HCPs) involved in developing, delivering, consulting, and monitoring care for patients with non-tubercular mycobacterial (NTM) pulmonary infection, including infectious disease specialists, pulmonary medicine specialists, and related clinicians.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Apply the results of recent clinical trials (ARISE) focused on Quality-of-Life (Bronchiectasis), time to culture positivity (TTP), and predicting rapidity of culture conversion based on antimicrobial treatment options
- Assess persons with NTM pulmonary disease, with improved skills at applying radiographic predictive criteria, patient-reported outcomes (PRO), TTP, and other clinical features that would suggest the need for more intensive, inhalation-based antimicrobial treatment
- Assess the severity of MAC pulmonary disease in order to better predict which persons with this condition will likely accelerate microbial conversion, improve bronchiectatic and respiratory symptoms, and report improved functional status based on antimicrobial treatment decisions
- Understand, interpret, and apply the new Year 2020 Updated ATS/IDSA/ERS Guidelines for NTM-LD; and how to apply new antimicrobial guidelines and recommendations contained in the new ATS/IDSA/ERS clinical practice statements
- Compare and differentiate the mechanism of action and delivery systems of different antimicrobial formulations and how these MOA will affect microbial conversion and eradication in MAC lung disease
- Recognize patients and symptoms that suggest the need to evaluate and assess—microbiologically and radiographically—persons with COPD, bronchiectasis, history of TB and other co-morbid conditions that place them at high risk for acquiring NTM-LD
- Implement clinical strategies and adjunctive measures that improve regimen adherence for inhaled antimicrobial formulations approved for treatment of NTM-LD; and, that ensure, once started, antimicrobial treatment plans can be adhered to and a full, planned course of antimicrobial therapy can be completed until evidence of microbial conversion is documented
