Method of Physician Participation Utilized in Learning Process
There are no fees for participating and receiving CE/CME credit for this activity. During the period November 18, 2022 through November 18, 2024, participants must 1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures; 2) study the educational activity, and are expected to view the activity, totaling 1.5 hours, to successfully complete the activity and earn CME credit; 3) register and complete the evaluation form and post-test; 4) score 100% on the post-test; and 5) print out CE/CME certificate.

For Pharmacists: Upon completion of the online evaluation, your credit will be submitted to CPE Monitor. Pharmacists have up to thirty (30) days to complete the evaluation and claim credit. Please check your NABP account within thirty (30) days to make sure the credit has posted.

In this web-based program, physicians will learn how recent developments in flash glucose monitoring have advanced the management of Type 2 and Type 1 diabetes.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Outline and discuss the evidentiary basis for senor/patch-based CGM technologies, and how to best implement CGM-based technologies into their overall diabetes care plans for persons with diabetes within the managed care environment
  • Detail the practical implementation perspective of sensor-based continuous glucose monitoring in the managed care setting to optimize clinical outcomes, target goal attainment, and comprehensive health metrics in persons across the diabetes spectrum, especially persons with Type 2 diabetes
  • Identify appropriate persons with diabetes who can benefit from the use of sensor-based glucose monitoring to optimize glycemic and health metrics, including persons on basal insulin therapy as well as those only on oral antidiabetics drugs.
  • Discuss the rationale and evidence for pharmacists and physicians recommending and facilitating adoption of technology-centric CGM monitoring and treatment plans using patch-and-reader-based technologies in the managed care setting
  • Navigate the processes, challenges, and requirements required to achieve authorization for the use of sensor-based CGM in the managed care setting

Intended Audience
This complimentary CE/CME educational activity is designed for all healthcare providers (HCPs) involved in developing, delivering, consulting, and monitoring care for patients with type 2 or type 1 diabetes, including pharmacists, endocrinologists, diabetes specialists, family medicine specialists, primary care physicians, physician associates, and related clinicians.
